EMDR Intensives

What is an EMDR Intensive?

An EMDR Intensive is a focused, extended therapy session (or series of sessions) that condenses weeks or months of trauma work into a shorter time frame. Instead of meeting once a week for 50–60 minutes, we meet for longer blocks of time—anywhere from 2–5 hours in a day or over one or more consecutive days.

    - Traditional EMDR – One session per week, slower pace, allows for gradual progress over time.
    - EMDR Intensive – Multiple hours per day, condensed into a short period, allowing you to process more deeply without long gaps between sessions.

Why Choose an EMDR Intensive?
EMDR intensives offer an opportunity to do deeper work in a shorter amount of time. Instead of spreading sessions out over months, you spend several focused hours (or days) immersed in healing—allowing your mind and body to process memories more completely and with less interruption. This format can accelerate progress, reduce emotional reactivation between sessions, and provide lasting relief.

Intensives are especially helpful if you’re seeking faster results, have a specific issue to target, or prefer a more flexible, time-efficient way to engage in therapy.

Intensives require an evaluation to determine appropriateness for extended EMDR session. There are half day, full day, multiple day options available. For more details, please contact me.

Regarding EMDR Intensives & Insurance:
EMDR Intensives require a thorough assessment to determine appropriateness for the process. Unfortunately, Intensives are not covered by insurance.
